StopSprawlMart.org

StopSprawlMart.org is a Pioneer Valley, Massachusetts-based campaign whose goals are to:

1. Raise awareness about the rising tide of sprawl in the Pioneer Valley.
2. Mobilize people, organizations, governments, and companies to actually slow down or stop this process.

With the planned expansion of the Hampshire Mall to accomodate a Wal-Mart "Supercenter" as a focal point, we plan to address the incredible multitude of negative impacts associated with sprawl including:

• environmental impact
• local economic impact
• impact on vibrant downtowns
• domestic and foreign labor practices
• gender descrimination
• traffic impact
• impact on scenic beauty, open space, and agriculture
• harm to overall quality of life

StopSprawlMart.org is a project of Policy Development, a (501(c)(3) nonprofit organization). As a project of Policy Development, StopSprawlMart.org is held to high programmatic, administrative, and fiscal oversight standards.
